The Dangers of Mold and The Link to HVAC Maintenance

There is a real risk that is present when it comes to mold and your HVAC system.  This is why professionals like us stress the importance of HVAC maintenance and doing what you can to reduce the risk of mold ever having the chance to develop.  Where does the danger of mold come from though pertaining to your HVAC system?  Better yet, what does HVAC maintenance even have to do with it?  It is one thing dos ay that the two are linked, but it is an entirely different thing to truly understand the link and how one can lead to the other.

As a team of professionals, we work every day at J&W Heating and Air to complete AC repair Jacksonville jobs all across the region.  When we run into mold situations though, these are some of the most risky jobs in terms of what the mold can do to the air quality of your home and your HVAC system overall.  Taking a deeper dive to understand the link between mold and HVAC maintenance can help paint a clearer picture.

How Mold Grows Through the HVAC System

You may not even have known that there is a real risk when it comes to mold growth and your HVAC system.  The reality though is that your HVAC system can quite easily become a breeding ground for mold as well as other types of bacteria.  Think about the way in which your HVAC system works overall.  The whole purpose of the HVAC system is to help condition the air to create the cool and comfortable air you need for your home.  This means that you constantly have hot air clashing up against cold air.  What can happen when this occurs is that you can end up with condensation.

Condensation can form throughout your HVAC system, but the most likely place for it to be seen is in the air ducts that carry the air produced by your system.  Once you end up with bacteria and mold within those air ducts, it can spread at a pretty fast rate.  The longer that you take to react to it, identify it, and work to remove it, the harder it is going to be to accomplish.

The Maintenance Factor

AC repair Jacksonville professionals like us will always stress that maintenance is better than trying to repair issues after they arise.  The same can be said here when it comes to your HVAC system and the risk of mold that is present around it.  Think about the routine maintenance that should be taking place for your HVAC system and your role in making sure that it is completed.  Having a professional like us come out to clean those air ducts on a regular basis can really help.  The same goes for changing out the air filter and cleaning other components of your system.

When it comes to mold, the best plan of attack is one that is highly proactive.  When you are proactive with your AC repair Jacksonville maintenance, you are going to be able to reduce the risk that mold ever has the chance too form in the first place.

Our team of professionals is highly trained and has years of experience in working on HVAC maintenance.  Our different Energy Savings Programs that we offer in the maintenance arena can offer you all type son levels of maintenance.  This can ensure that your system ends up running the way that it should and the dangers of mold growth are vastly reduced.  That truly is all that you can ask for when it comes to your HVAC system, that it is running how you would expect it to and also maintaining a high air quality in the home.

Just had an entirely new, full HVAC install done at our old house in Riverside, which was a fairly big job. Brian and... Will did the installation, and were awesome. There was going to be issues leveling the air handler in the attic, so they moved it to a new spot and hung it instead, getting new parts/changing the plan on the fly. We're much happier with this new setup and location of the air handler. I really appreciated this, their professionalism/thoroughness, and flexibility. Brian and Will worked super-hard, and double-checked everything once the job was done. Would use this company again.read more

A snake crawled into my outdoor condenser and stopped my 16 year old Trane last week on Thursday. The power surge took... out my blower unit circuit board and the motor. I called J&W and Rob was over within two hours of my call. I was spec'd a new York 17 seer system and it was up and running on Monday. Technicians Jason and Brian arrived promptly and every facet of the installation was thorough. When completed, I would not of even known they were there except they left my garage cleaner! Thanks J&W!read more
